Case Study
adelaide house - london
TAP were employed to design the mechanical and electrical services for the refurbishment of the 3rd, 5th, and 6th floors to adapt the floor space from a large cellular office arrangement to a more open plan modern work space with meeting and conference rooms to suit an increase in staff numbers. The floors were designed to meet the specific requirements of Berwin Leighton Paisner to provide approximately 35,000 ft2 of space. The project included the introduction of a raised floor system to provide a flexible power/data solution in lieu of the inflexible screed and skirting trunking system.
New energy efficient systems were installed including low energy PICV fan coil units (existing FCU’s retained on 5th floor) with existing pipework and ductwork distribution retained and adapted to suit requirements.
LED lighting solution integrated with the existing building lighting control system.

Project Solutions / Achievements
- Low energy EC fan coil system operating under PICV control – reduced energy consumption, lower operating costs.
- New lighting installation with extensive use of LED light sources.
- Integrated lighting controls system.
- Flexible underfloor power distribution system.
